Pumpkin Patch

We went with Connor's school to the Laity Pumpkin Patch on Monday. We were lucky it wasn't raining as in past years - it's turns into one giant, muddy, mucky puddle.
They have little stations the kids can go through - below is a little barn all the kids tried to cram themselves into. You can see Connor coming out (with his snazzy new hair cut and coat).

I tried to be all photographer like with the boys - here are a couple that didn't turn out too badly. Connor was really not in the mood - way too wound up.

There is a forest trek too - full of lots of stuff - gnome and mushroom forest, dinosaurs, giant insects, an old jail, school house and a general store.
Connor milking a "cow" There was a tractor ride too, it was all of 2 minutes and we went in a circle.
A few pics of Darien in his bumbo. Just don't try and supersize these pics - the floor doesn't look too bad when the picture is this size!!!

5 Months Old!

Wow another month gone already! Except for Darien's lack of hair compared to Connor, I really think they look like each other for their 5 month picture.
We took the boys swimming on Saturday (Darien's first time). He was way past his nap time but didn't get fussy at all. He was very serene looking around and not minding all the chaos around him. This was taken about 5 minutes ago. Jeremy was home in time from work to read Connor stories and they both fell fast asleep.
Look mom, no hands!! Darien is now sitting by himself - very cute.

Thank You Auntie Amanda!!

Connor loves his new DVD player - "My very own TV with my very own remote control!!" We just have to get the cigarette lighter fixed in the car and we're good to go.

If you're wondering what is holding up Connor's hair in the 2nd picture and thought, "Oh, it must be gel" -you would be wrong. He has taken to "brushing" his hair with his toothbrush and toothpaste to give him power at night. He also puts a dab of soap on the front of his PJs - apparently it makes him a better super hero.Check out the belly on Darien - I still can't believe what a big boy he is. Almost 5 months old. When I went to the bathroom Darien was safely on the floor playing with his toys and Connor was on the couch watching a show - this is what I came back to

Salmon Run

It's that time of year that the salmon come on back home. We took Connor and the dog to the Alouette river to watch them and there were already a few casualties. Connor poked his find with a stick until it slipped back under the water and Samson decided to wrestle his ashore. It was about 25lbs and he had a bit of a time doing it but he did and boy weren't we glad of the lovely odour that accompanied it.
This is a place called Hot Rocks, the rocks are huge and in the summer they are well - hot rocks. Very nice place to spend a sunny summer afternoon. Unfortunately though it is also very popular with the teenagers at night and you have to be careful about broken glass.

We have had unusual weather for us out here on the West Coast, clear and crisp. Why, some of our leaves are even changing colour and falling to the ground dry as opposed to a soggy mess that is almost impossible to rake up.

Ever since we started feeding Darien cereal Connor has been asking to feed him, so I relented. I wonder if there is a correlation to Connor feeding him and Darien wanting to nurse more that night!!?? (hint, check all the food on Darien's chin - which means it is NOT in his belly)

In other baby news, Darien cut his first tooth last Friday and the 2nd one doesn't look too far behind. Will take a pic when they are up enough to see.

The Weigh-In

18lbs 4oz!!

Yep, that is one BIG boy!! Darien did pretty good with his shots but it upset Connor quite a bit. I had made the appointment originally for when Connor would be at school but the Dr. decided to move his appointments to the late afternoon for the day so off I went with both boys in tow. As soon as the nurse started with the first shot (and Darien subsequently started screaming), Connor put his hand over his mouth and was saying "Oh no, no, no no". But then the needle came out and there was a drop a blood, game over, Connor very politely informed the nurse, "okay he's had enough now, don't do that again!"

But she did do it again, 2 more times in fact - poor little guy.

You can just see Connor in his blue shirt about a 1/4 of the way done in the center of picture - he has taken to climbing trees. I can just feel the grey hairs starting to grow - and Jeremy doesn't help by telling me of all his childhood broken bones and other miscellaneous injuries!!

Hannah's new coat

Here is a couple of pictures of Hannah's new Fall jacket. I picked it up at Once Upon a Child for $10.00. It is from The Children's Place. It had the original tags on it still. It feels like suede.

As well here is some pictures of Hannah having her first Baby Mum Mum cookie. She started eating and didn't stop until she hit her fingers. She eats them every day now.
