11 Months

These pictures were taken on the right day (April 22nd) but we've been pretty swamped so I haven't had a chance to post them.

Easter in BC

Who wouldn't have a smile on their face at 6:30 AM with this haul? As you can see by the chipmunk look to his cheeks, Connor was already sampling the loot. You would have thought it was Christmas morning in our house if you had heard the shrieks of delight from Connor after finding eggs beside his bed. "It's true, it's true! He Came!" After a small hunt inside the house, we headed to Whonnock Lake for a community Easter Hunt. We arrived early so had some time to go for a walk and play in the park.

As you can see, Jeremy still enjoys playing in the park as much as Connor does. Maybe when Darien gets older, his daddy or brother will let him have a turn.
But for now, Darien is content in the stroller.
Well, content until a big scary man with make-up on and dressed in a white rabbit suit invades his space. Before the ready, set, go Jeremy is trying to help Connor find the one special metalic egg so he can get the special prize. It turned out that what Jeremy spotted was some garbage not the egg.
Chaos ensued but Connor did really well. It didn't matter to him that everyone would get the same amount of eggs in the end, he was collecting to win. Instead of the eggs being hidden in the forest, they had to find poker chips. Whether the kids found two or twenty the same amount of eggs were given to all. I can see from this picture why my back is always sore.

More chocolate, yes that is always a reason to celebrate.

A Visit from Grandma

Connor was very excited to see Grandma again. I don't think he remembers the last time he saw her as he was quite young but we talk about family all of the time and he knows who everyone is. On a regular basis we show Connor pictures of the family, especially after he talks to one of you - it helps him make the connection that you are real people not just a voice on the phone.Darien enjoyed his first visit with his Grandma (much more than he is showing in this picture). It was Grandma's last day with us and mommy wanted another picture - silly mommy should have waited until after nap time. All of us went for a picnic and to the bike park during her visit. We had great weather (22-24 degrees). As you can see here, Connor is in need of a new bike - he is getting so tall! Here is Connor playing the spy with the new binoculars Grandma brought him.Deep in thought on the swing.Going on a juice hunt. Connor had us all convinced that there was a man going around selling juice and ice cream, but he was not to be found. It made for a great picture of him and Grandma though. My boys and their special lady :)
Unfortunately, right after this picture Connor was knocked right off his feet by his dad. It was then decided that Connor should be on the swing, then he fell off and bumped his head. He was not a happy camper for quite some time afterwards.
After this picture was taken we had to go on a boot hunt. Connor neglected to tell me as I was running that his boots had fallen off. Oh well, it was a good practice run for the Easter egg hunt.
No more pictures! Just take me home for my nap.

Okay, here are some more pics. I was going to post more last night, but I kind of ended up glued to the t.v. Bones was on and then Lost and they were both very good, as usual.

Here is one from the theatre party. The young hipster in the orange sweatshirt and hat is James' friend, Tanner. They've been friends since Preschool. The rest of the kids in the pic he has known since Kindergarten, and of course, Michael is there too.

James' 10th Birthday

James turned 10 years old on March 11th. We had the usual family party and then on the 31st, James invited 4 of his friends to go to the movie theatre to see the new TMNT movie. It was a great movie and it was a fun party. The best part was that the theatre staff had everything set up for us and then cleaned up afterwards. Here are some shots taken at home during the family party and at the theatre party too.
