Grayden - 4 Months Old

Fun Day

Connor had his first Fun Day at school (when I went to school it was called Sports Day).

And after the festivities we went to the beach for a picnic dinner.

Grayden and the New Sprinkler (that is already broken)

Here are some new pictures of Grayden as promised (and one of Jeremy's crazy hair). Look at the cherubic face! You can see evidence of the teething I mentioned in the last post in the form of his glistening chin.
Not too shabby considering I took the picture myself! And you can direct compliments mentioning how much you love my new hair colour to the comments section below (had to wash that gray right out of my hair).
And the new sprinkler! It was on sale for $5 so I couldn't say no when Connor asked for it. It was supposed to fly around in the air and go all beserk, but all it did was just lay there - much to Connor's disappointment. It is probably for the best though, two boys running around beserk is quite enough, I don't need a crazy ball too.

Connor provided the acrobatics that the ball failed to deliver. Cool moves dude! Darien doesn't like getting wet in freezing cold water (smart kid) and so he created his own sprinkler.
If you are any good at reading lips, you might be able to determine that Connor is saying "poo" in the next picture. He tried to convince me he landed in a pile of Samson's poop (I will admit that it is entirely possible), but he was trying to gross me out.
And when Connor kicked the sprinkler his toe nail put a hole in it. I can't get mad at the kid because a) it was a $5 item and b) it is a ball, you're supposed to kick it. So we went back to the old stand by of Elmo.

Why I Should Have Insisted that the Hole Be Filled In

While playing outside (yes, only in his diaper), Darien decides that he wants to go for a ride in the wagon. Figuring if he could reach the handle the wagon will animate for him, he attempts to start the ride while already being inside. As you probably guessed, he can't reach.
But it is just as fun to pull the wagon whether or not you are inside.
Oh Darien, what is that behind you?!! Ah yes, it is the hole your brother dug only a few days ago - you better be careful.
Any takers on what happens next?
Yes, he fell into it. Was I the best mama in the world that ran to his aid to help him out?
No, I was the mama who tried to take a picture of him in the hole but the damn camera was too slow!

Holes and Kites Oh My!

We have an area in the front yard that is just dirt (as evidenced in the below photos), this is the place the boys can use to satisfy their need to dig. When Connor puts his mind to a task he does a great job why just look at the size of the hole he dug.

Darien coming over to inspect Connor's handy work. At first he wasn't too sure if he would get in or not - it is quite deep.
But he does. Now the problem is getting Connor to fill the hole back up. Because he worked so hard to create it. I'm afraid he will cover it over like a trap (think Road Runner) and try to catch something or someone (namely Darien).
We finally got Connor's kite up in the air! We found the perfect spot in Steveston Village. We had a visit from Uncle Glenn & Aunt Dawn and spent the day in Steveston and had a nice dinner of fresh fish and chips. Connor really took to Uncle Glenn and that means he got attacked and pummeled out of love and the need for little boys to wrestle.

Connor had to sit beside him at dinner.

Darien enjoyed the visit too, but he especially he enjoyed the cake he got as part of the deal.

Connor is now a green-striped belt. He is doing great in karate and is taking the whole thing very seriously.
Baby News: Grayden is teething, his two bottom teeth are almost through. Will post more pictures of him soon!
